About North India
The North India is reffered as a collection of states in the region of non-peninsular Republic of the country India. The region also includes the area north of the mountains of Vindhya, Narmada River and the river Mahanadi, excluding Gujarat and maharashtra in the west, West Bengal and the Orissa in the east and the 7 states in the north eastern part of india. The capital of india New Delhi is located in the northern part of india. The geographical features of the dominant northern India are plain Indo-Gangetic whose fertile soils and rivers had supported large populations and the Himalayas. The North India was the historic centre of the Maurya, Gupta, Mughal and the british india colonosation. It has a rich and diverse culture, with Holy Cities of Varanasi and Allahabad. These two sites are World Heritage sites representing the Islam and Buddhism. The eastern areas of this region continue to face problems of overcrowding, poverty, illiteracy even after considerable economic growth and development in the field of Agriculture.
Rajasthan
 Rajasthan is a land of sand dunes, grand palaces and majestic forts. Rajasthan has got lots of historic cities and one can hear tales of great princes and rajas in the state. Uttaranchal

Uttaranchal or Uttarakhand is a beautiful and exotic region among the state of north india. Nature has endowed this land with so much beauty and spiritual bliss. Mjor rivers of india like the Ganga, Yamuna and some other rivers originate in Uttarakhand. The state was formerly part of uttar pradesh. Uttaranchal lies in the heart of himalayas Kumaon region in its east and Garhwal in the west.
Himachal Pradesh
The beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh is located on the western part of Himalayas. The state covers an area of 55,780 kms, Himachal Pradesh is a mountainous state with elevation ranging from about 350 mts to 6,000 mts above the sea level. Centuries geo the inhabitants of the region were tribals named as Dasas. After centuries Aryans came and they assimilated with the ribal people. Beyond that the hill chieftains accepted suzerainty of the Mauryan empire, the Kaushans, the Guptas and Kanuaj ulers. Himachal is commonly known as the fruit bowl of India with orchards scattered all over the place. Meadows and astures are also seen clinging to steep slopes. This adds more beauty to the state of himachal pradesh.
Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir is located in the northern most extremity of India. Jammu and Kashmir has the distinction of having multifaceted, variegated and unique cultural blend, making it a unique place from the rest of the country. Delhi

Delhi is where indian capial is located. Delhi is one of the india's prime point of arrival for visitors from overseas, and the major transport hub for near by state. Delhi is the centre of political activity for centuries. The forts and ancient buildings in delhi has got lots of stories to say to a traveller. Most of the people who visits the world famous Taj Mahal first touches delhi and then head toward that monument. Punjab

Punjab is a state located on the northern part of india just beside delhi and jammu kashmir. The people of the Punjab are called Punjabis and the language they speak is called Punjabi. The main religions of the Punjab region are Sikhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. Punjab is famous for its agriculture especially wheat and cereals cultivation.
