Shimla
Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh state, and has about 100,000 inhabitants. It lies on a ridge at 2,200 m altitude and distance to the airport is 20 km.
The city formerly belonged to the Kingdom of Nepal. It was 1819 by the British and was discovered by this time in the summer residence of the British viceroy. Moreover, the city was the venue for the 1914 British-Sino-Tibetan negotiations. The name Shimla is from the name of the goddess Kali "Shyamala" derived whose temple in the 19th Century in a forest near the Jakhu Hill. |
